Posted on Mon, 27 Jun 2016
Question: I had a mammagram done two weeks ago. My doctor office called and said the test was incomplete he needed better visuals. He set me up for an ultrasound. I do have a history density in my breast. They did not report that he had seen anything. Should I be alarmed.

Brief Answer:
Dense breasts make the mammogram difficult to interpret.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.

A breast ultrasound usually is required for better clarification of lesions like cysts or fibroadenoma, which are benign findings, common for your age and generally nothing to worry about.
But, also dense breast can complicate the good visualization of a mammogram, and so an ultrasound is asked to clarify what is not well visible there.

I trust that your doctor would not have said that the test was incomplete is that was not the case and if other alarming things showed up on mammogram, but I think that its really what he said and the test is not clear. The fact that you said that you have dense breasts makes it more possible.

So my advise would be to not worry, trust your doctors, and wait for the result of the new mammogram and ultrasound.

Hope this is helpful.

I have been seeing doctors about my neck pain. The doctor at the local clinic perscribed cyclobenzapr 10 mg when I saw, him. However when I went to my regular pcp he gave me tizanidine 4mg. I have taken the cyclobenzapr in the past and it did not leave me real groggy. Last night I took the tizanidine 4mg and it made me a little groggy. Which is the best recommended for pain. I have a spasm in my neck.

Brief Answer:
Both medicines are in the same group

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thank you for your follow-up question.

Both medicines you are mentioning above are in the same group, so you can use either one. They are not primarily used for pain, but are used to relax the muscles. They should be used together with rest and physical therapy.

So my recommendation would be to talk to your doctor about this, since I don't know his reasons as to why he switched you to the new one. If he didn't had any reasons then you can switch to the one you want, because to my knowledge they are both in the same group, but you seem to tolerate one better than the other.

Regards,
