Hello i am 35 and i recently carried out a mammogram and was diagnosed with a fibroadenoma. I also carried out a breast ultrasound and nothing was seen. I feel a dull aching pain which comes on and off. I do not have a family history of cancer. Please advise
Do not worry fobroadenomas are common in this age and the pain usually corelates with your mentstrual cycle as the effects of harmones causes the on and off pain. It is a benign non cancerous condition If there are multiple or complex fibroadenomas you are at an increased risk of breast cancer of 2 times compared to a woman with normal breasts. Simple fibroadenomas are nothing to be worried about.
