Question: Hello Doctor,

My query is regarding to my Father-In-Law.

Today In a health camp my Father-in-Law went through ECG. As per the initial finding the report states the following/

1) Left Anterior Hemi Block and
2) Suspect Anterior Myocardial Infarction in V2.

As per the technician he says that a block is being developing.

I need a road map for his treatment. He is aged 73+ years.

Brief Answer:
upload ecg graph.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir/ Madam
1. An ECG is best interpreted by looking at it and knowing the clinical profile of patient. It would be great if you can upload the picture of ECG graph on this page (right top corner) and also tell me if the patient has any history of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attack, smoking, chest pain on exertion, breathlessness stroke.
2. Left anterior hemiblock is an electrical phenomenon which is usually benign. It is not related to blockade in arteries.
3. Suspected anterior wall MI in V2 is not a clear term. It may mean suspicion of heart attack. However , I still says it is not a standard term. Road map depends upon the exact final diagnosis.
4. I would throw more light on this once you upload ECG and his clinical profile.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder

Brief Answer:
ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY and HbA1C.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir/ Madam
Indeed there is normal sinus rhythm with left anterior hemiblock. Beside there is QRS prolongation, which is non-specific IVCD. There does not seem to be an infarction but V2 seems to have an artifact which got cleared in medians. However I normally advise a cardiac ultrasound or echocardiography in my patients of prolongation of QRS with such a profile.
You have not mentioned that 140 sugar is random or fasting or Postrandial. Anyhow HbA1C is a better marker for diabetes.
Feel free to discuss further.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
