What Does This Endoscopy Result Indicate?
Question: I am diagnosed for small sliding hiatus hernia and doctor suggested Rekool 20mg before dinner for a month. Can this problem can be treated without surgery?
Following is the report of Endoscopy:
Esophagus: Normal mucosa dn peristalsis. Squamocolumnar junction (SC) and hiatur at 36 & 40 cms. NO ulcers, varices , growth of food residue.
Stomach: Normal cardia, fundus, body and antrum. Pylrus normal. No ulcers, varices growth or food residue.
Duodenum: Normal first part, 2nd part and ampulla. No ulcers, erosions scars or psudodiverticula.
Impression: Small sliding hiatus hernia. Normal upper GI videoendoscopy.

If you take medication and maintain strict diet control,the progression of hernia may be delayed.
Also quit smoking and alcohol if any.
If symptoms doesn't subside with medication surgery is advisable.
So maintain healthy diet which will decrease the progression of hernia.
