Question: Hi I did a Health checkup in my org and few results of Cholesterol were upsetting.
Can you please help in explaining them and it can be controlled

HDL CHOLESTEROL 33 L >40 mg/dL


VLDL CHOL, CALCULATED 27 mg/dL (calc)
LDL/HDL RATIO 4.1 H 0.5 - 3.0 (calc)
CHOLESTEROL/HDL RATIO 6.0 H < 5.0 (calc)
DIRECT LDL 137 H < 100 mg/dL

Your lipids are only mildly deranged

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

I have gone through your reports. Your lipids are only mildly deranged and do not require medicines.

HDL is good cholesterol and is low.
Others like LDL, etc are the bad cholesterols and are mildly high. When LDL isrased more than 190 you will need medicines.

At these levels medicines are not advised.
You should control the levels with diet and exercise.
In diet you should avoid high calorie fatty foods like milk products (cheese, butter, ghee, sweets, etc). You should also take more of fruits.

You need to exercise daily for atleast 20 min a day.
Recheck lipid profile in 3 months.
