What Does This Report After Having Arthroscopic Surgery Indicate?

I have had arthroscopic surgery 3 weeks ago - reading the notes I have had a bony fibrovascular nodule (cyclops) at base of AVL reconstruction graph, there was no loose bodies but advanced grade 4 wear on area of lateral femoral condyle in flexion 15x25mm - unstable edges were trimmed.
In plain English what does this mean, what are the long term concerns for health of my knee.
I am female 47 - (slightly over weight at the moment !!) normally very active, play in goal at field hockey, ride morotorbikes and work within the outdoor industry and spend most of my summers on the hills teaching people hill walking etc.
I am concerned that I may be contributing to deteriating health of my knee if I continue within the chosen career I work within.
Would I be advised to wear a knee brace to reduce wear n tear and reduce instability of the joint - I have just gone over my ankle and torn ligaments due to the knee instability ??
Thanks you
You need to take little precautions
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Your ACL graft which was done 6 years ago, has some growth over it. This is known as cyclops and it was preventing knee bending. Also there is some wear and tear in your knee. This growth of cyclops is shaven in this recent surgery so now you will have improve movement of the knee.
You do not need any knee brace for long time. At present for some time doctors may advised you to wear it for say three months.
You can continue restricted athletic activities after that. You should avoid squatting, sitting cross leg as these activities can cause more damage to knee. Also you will not be allowed to jump or run on uneven surfaces. Hill walking may be difficult for you. you should take regular calcium and vitamin D3 to take care of weak bones.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
