What Does This Serum Sodium Level Indicate?

Question: My sodium serum test just came back at 145 should i be alarmed?
Brief Answer:
hi and welcome
Detailed Answer:
Of course not, especially if other findings such as potassium, creatinine and urea are fine. This is normal value and 145 is upper limit of natriemia. Just repeat test in several weeks, but even 150 values are not worrying. Wish you good health. Regards

Thank you for your response. I go see this doctor tomorrow for him to give me the results (which he doesn't know I have) What if he goes left field on me and wants me to do more tests? How do I intelligently tell him that I do not want to go further with this procedure? I didn't see anything in my reading about PARKINSON's, and I don't think I am diabetic. Also.....in your response what is the Urea test? I don't see it on my paper? Would it be listed as something else?
Brief Answer:
hi
Detailed Answer:
I don't think you should be worried about Parkinson's since it has some other symptoms and occur later in life. Also, there is no need to do so extensive work up,try to wait few more weeks to see will this laryngitis recover.this is probably just localized inflammation and I don't think this is some systemic disease. Of course nothing is for sure but in consultation with your doctor try to do only necessary tests. Diabetes is easily ruled out with blood sugar test. Urea is routinely done for kidney evaluation.
