Hello,

You are suggested to give voice rest. Take liquid or semi solid diet so that you do not hurt your throat. Take sips of water all the time so that the throat mucosa is not dry. Stay adequately hydrated. Take fluids and water, beverage and soups.

Keep cough lozenges in your throat. Taking a course of antibiotics or corticosteroids is effective. Before that get yourself clinically examined by an ENT. Get laryngoscopy and biopsy done if required. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from alcohol, smoking, drugs or any other addiction. Use a humidifier to keep the air throughput the room moist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
