Brief Answer:
It shows a fungal and bacterial infection.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

The sputum specimen shows you have a fungal growth and bacterial infection in lungs. The sputum contains fugal/yeast growth and also Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus (MRSA) bacterial infection.

Consult a Pulmonologist for proper evaluation and treatment. He is trained to treat such cases. So make an appointment today.

Stop taking steroid nasal spray as it also increases fungal growth.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

If agreed please give a five Star rating and close this discussion.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!

Brief Answer:
Yes its due to the chronic lung infection due to fungus and resistant bacteria.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you back!

Thanks for a follow up query and giving me a chance to assist you. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) for your age should normally be less than 30mm/hour. Your's is high, and yes, it is due to the disease process going on there in lungs. Chronic infections cause to raise ESR for example in tuberculosis and a lot more diseases.

ESR is also used to see how the therapy is going on. Once you start your treatment with a pulmonologist, and start healing the lung lesions, your ESR should come down. You may compare this baseline ESR with the new one after the treatment and will get a clue the therapy is going fine.

Have you further queries, feel free to ask me. May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. If agreed, please give a five star rating and close the discussion.

Regards!
