Question: hello Dr,

could you please help me in understanding the ultra sound report.I'm about 33 weeks pregnant now.
please find the details below

ceed 29-05-16(32w 6days)
fetal biometry :
BPD 8.7 cms(corresponding to 35w 4 days)
HC 31.2 cms( Corresponding to 35 w)
AC 31.2 cms (corresponding to 35 w)
FL. 6.5 cms( corresponding to 34. w)

fetal heart rate 122/bmp
fetal movement normal
placenta anterior
liquor adequate
AFI 19.2 Cms

IMPRESSION:

umbilical artery uterine gestation corresponding to gestational age of 34 weeks 6days cephalic presentation
placenta anterior
liquor adequate
EFW :2514+/- 367 gms
edd : 15-5-16

please let me knw gestational age is greater ideally it should be 32 week and 6 days whether it has any problem with baby and EDD has been preponed.could you plz explain.

Hello Dear,

Thanks for giving updated report. I have reviewed it.

1) Your ultrasound scan report is absolutely fine and normal. Growing fetus is quite mature. and EDD will be after 15th May.

2) Gestational age (through ultrasound scan) is calculated on the basis of gross fetal maturity. It may NOT correspond with LMP (D1 of cycle) or post ovulation (D15) calculated gestational age.

3) Fetus is more matured (on ultrasound scan) than actual gestational age. There may be 1 to 2 weeks difference and it is considered NORMAL if other findings or parameter are within normal limit.
