What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Question: Dear Doctor I was undergone for a USG of upper Abdomen as advised my Doctor and as per report there is a fat infiltration in to the liver grade-III and fat infiltration in to the pancreas as well. I had shown to my Doctor and he advised to make a LFT and some other blood test. I am a pure vegetarian. Shall I know the severity of this disease and is it curable??? After knowing this I am in a stress. Can you please advise or suggest in this regard??? XXXX, Age 43

It could be Hepatitis. Only investigations will throw light into the issue.

What symptoms are you facing?
Do you consume alcohol?
Since the USG says Fatty liver and pancreatic issues you should get complete blood work up done including LFTs. Also please get viral markers done which are also blood tests. You can ask for Hepatitis screen or Hep - A, B, C, E tests as also HIV. And get an AFP test done. With the results of these tests I would be able to better comment as to whether there is anything to worry about. as of now, I don't think you need to worry at all. It should be fine and you should recover with conservative management.
