What Does This Urinalysis Report Indicate?
Urinary tract infection,not worrisome,antibiotics advised...
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
Having bld level of 10 mg/ul and protein level of 30 mg/dl in your urine is indicative for urinary tract infection (UTI) with slight damages to the function of your kidney. This is not worrisome, but is indicating that you have been having UTI for long time, but it was not treated until now.
Abdominal (kidney) ultrasound result is needed to see if any changes in the structure of your kidney and if stones/sludge is present.
Once again, it is not worrisome, but need proper treatment with :
- prescription antibiotics
- herbal supplement for UTI (containing uva-ursi, cranberry, fern stone, etc.)
Wish fast recovery!

Thank you !
Suspected increased physical activity prior to testing...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for your follow up queries.
I was going through the urine analysis report you sent in and I can say as following:
- to determine UTI, I advise to culture the urine
- next, abdominal ultrasound is necessary to rule out urinary/kidney stones/sludge
- you might have had an intensive physical activity prior/a day before the testing has been carried out
Slight (mild) kidney damage is determined by the presence of protein in urine. Once the final diagnosis is determined, the most appropriate treatment will be prescribed.
You should get regular follow ups to prevent further permanent changes to the kidneys. For the moment, these are temporary changes that will improve by passing of time and proper treatment.
Hope it answered to your queries!

I have just heard from my urologist and they would like to refer me to a nephrologist due to consistent protein in my urine and my ultrasound displaying mild fullness to the right intrarenal collecting system but otherwise unremarkable . Can you explain this to me ?
Thank you !
Need to have ultrasound report...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
It is great to know that you will continue following up with nephrologist. I need to have the full ultrasound report to give a more specific answer.
Anyway, from what you are describing, the mild fullness to the right intrarenal collecting system is indicative for possible obstacle on your right kidney, which is causing mild fullness. This obstacle could be:
- congenital narrowing or morphological alterations
- sludge or crystals/stones
Further examinations with nephrologist are needed to determine the right cause and the right management.
Hope it helped!
