What Does This Urine Test Result Post Macrodantin Usage Indicate?

Question: Daily Macrodantin, 50 mg and negative urine cultures....initial urine tests show bacteria, elevated wbc's, sometimes blood, and nitrates. Often the urine is orange because I've had to take Pyridium or Azo for discomfort. What are the chances of the medications interferring with the culture results.
Brief Answer:
Your Urine infection might be under control.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had UTI and you had been taking Macrodantin and Azo.
Your recent urine culture examination has been reported to be negative for bacterial growth.
It is most likely that your earlier UTI has been cured by Macrodantin and Azo.hence there is no growth of bacteria on culture .
Do not worry You can continue with mild urinary antibiotic like Norfloxacin twie daily for a week along with Macrodantin.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask me I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
