What Does This Widal Test Report Indicate?

Question: My widal test report has XXXXXXX attached herewith
TO 1/20,1/40, 1/80 are positive
TH 1/20 7 1/40 arepositive and
AH 1/20 is positive . rest all values are negative. is it just starting ? i am given with moxifloxacin , is it enough?
what are the food i can have?
precautions i hav to take...

Thanks for posting your query.

You didn't mentioned your problems or symptoms, kindly let me know that first so that I can advise completely.

As of widal test report is concerned a value of 160 or more is taken as positive , anything less is not considered as significant. But if the test is done within 5/days then the value is come less inspite of having Typhoid.

I recommend you to get a different test called IgM Typhi Dot which is more confirmative than widal test. As of Moxiflocacin is concerned that is not the first choice of drug for Typhoid.

In my practise I prescribe cefixime and ofloxacin for Typhoid patient.

I had enteric fever before 6 years.now for last one week or more i m hvng loose motion wth foulng smell but motion s not so loose.feelng slight pain in stomach plus Gas.for last two days body pain heavy tiredness moth s dryng hvly but not feelng fever
So wth th hstory of earlier enteric fvr XXXXXXX advsef for widal

Thanks for the information.

I think you are just having stomach infection as your symptoms fit for stomach infection. You don't have Enteric fever as it will always be associated with fever.

In my opinion I would recommend you to get a stool routine test that will help in differentiating whether the stomach infection is due to bacteria or virus. This is important because if it is viral infection you don't have to take any medication just hydration is sufficient.

But if report suggests bacterial infection then you need to be started on an antibiotic course.

Also avoid having non veg food and have less oily food. Eat more of fruits and vegetables.

If in case fever starts then I recommend a test called IgM Typhi dot which is a confirmative test for typhoid.

My mouth nd lips are gtng dried very fast even aftr taking more water(boiled nd ors)
Nw loose motion has stopped bt feelng disconfort frm stomach nd gas nd inbetween stomach pain also
Nd tiredness
Is all part of ths or i need to to stool test

HI

Don't worry about dryness, it is quite common during most of the illness . It shall become normal in 1-2 days.

Stomach discomfort and gas is due to persistent indigestion. I hope you are following the diet advised by me. If the discomfort is too much you can ask for a prescription of digestive enzyme medication like Syrup Aristozyme.

It's all part of the disease and there is no need to do the test as of now since loose motions have stopped.
