Brief Answer:
needs to see a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Once women have gone through menopause, meaning that they have not had any menstrual bleeding for one year, any bleeding after that is concerning.
She needs to be checked by a doctor and will need a pelvic exam, an ultrasound and an endometrial (inside the uterus) biopsy.
Bleeding after menopause is concerning for cancer of the uterus.
Thanks you for asking about this and make sure she gets to a doctor right away.
If she does have this kind of cancer it is very successfully treated in most cases.
She needs to see a doctor, probably a gynecologist, as soon as possible

Brief Answer:
no way to be sure with out exam

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The most concerning problem would be cancer of the uterus and there would most likely be no other symptoms except the bleeding.
Other causes could be infection or ovarian problem, but again there is no way to be sure with her seeing a doctor and getting exams.
