default
Posted on Tue, 12 May 2015
Question: My father is 53 years old.
He is having a BP: 220/140 and got severe headache.
He has a trouble of getting words while speaking.
Then we took him to a doctor - Neurologist.
He did a CT Scan & Blood test.
The doctor told, the blood is leaking in the brain.
Questions:
1) Since the blood is leaking, will this be cured by Medications or Surgery is required
2) How long it will take to recover and get back to Normal
3) From when, My dad can resume to work
4) Is there any chances for re-occurrence, if so how can we avoid
5) Any Exercise routine which can help him to keep his pressure in a normal range
6) Best Diet to follow
7) Can we give the following juice- Amla juice, Citroen fruit juice and drumstick leaves juice, as we heard this will help in lowering the BP - please pour your thoughts.
Attached CT Scan report and blood report.
Thanks in Advance..

Thanks for your kind reply Dr.
Is there any possibility of blood clotting in the brain?
Also, what will happen to the blood which has been already leaked in the brain?
Can I take him to Chennai(distance - 316km) or Bangalore(distance - 430km) in train or car?
Is the change of place can help him to recover fast or advisable?
Thanks in Advance.

Brief Answer:
There is no possibility of clotting.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

There is no possibility of blood clotting in the brain.
The blood that has leaked will slowly get absorbed in the brain and will disappear within one month.
You can take him to XXXXXXX or XXXXXXX after two weeks of brain bleeding.
Change of place may help in faster recovery.

1) Since the blood is getting absorbed in the brain, will that be a problem or it is as good as how the brain was earlier before bleeding.
2) Also " two weeks of brain bleeding" meaning - we have diagnosed on 17th april- From that date, after 2 weeks is 1st May - He is OK to travel from May1st. Am I right?
3) Preferred Mode of transport?
4) Is it good to do MRI scan to make sure that all is well..
Thanks in Advance.

Brief Answer:
Brain would recover.

Detailed Answer:

1. Brain would recover after that, however some brain damage would remain due to injury occurred on the day of bleeding.

2. Yes, May 1st should be alright.

3. Train or car.

4. MRI may be done prior to that.

1) The Brain damage which you are mentioning can't be cured over time.
If so, when and what needs to be done.
If it can't be cured, what will be the impact on him.
2) You want us to do the MRI before travelling, am I right?
Thanks in Advance.

Brief Answer:
Brain damage would improve on own.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Brain damage would improve partly on own. Full recovery is not possible. Mild weakness of arm and leg may remain because of that.

MRI brain should be done before travelling.
