What Is Misoprostol Or Mifepristone Dosage To Terminate Pregnancy?

Question: My wife's pregnancy is confirmed . Now If I want to go for medical pregnancy termination do I need to consult any doctor or can directly take misoprostol or mifepristone. How many dosage is required. Pregnancy is 1 month old.

Your wife cannot take the medicines by herself as these are prescription drugs and need to be taken under the supervision of a doctor. The dosage would differ among different doctor's practice. I usually prescribe my patients Tablet Mifepristone 600mg one dose, followed by Tablet Misoprostol 200mcg every 6 hrs vaginally until 48 hrs. This would result in abortion in most cases.
