Brief Answer: Arcus Senilis. Older adults. No treatment needed. Detailed Answer: Hello, It is called Arcus Senilis. Arcus senilis is common in older adults. It's caused by fat (lipid) deposits deep in the edge of the cornea. Arcus senilis doesn't affect vision, nor does it require treatment. Some people with high cholesterol and familial hyperlipidemia also develop similar ring. Treatment is generally aimed at controlling cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Thus check your Lipid profile. If you have high cholesterol, it must be controlled. Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
