Hypokalemia occurs due to increased losses of potassium either through the gut or kidneys. Some medications (diuretics) also can was to increased losses. However you are not on any such meds.
A detailed evaluation that includes serum and urine osmolality & serum and urine potassium, supplements in diet and potassium would be needed.
As usually such problems are likely to be genetic, medications or supplementation may be lifelong.
