Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bicornuate uterus and suffer from hypokalemia. My doctor has ordered a renal ultrasound. What could be wrong with my renal function to cause hypokalemia? I am aware that there could be some abnormalities with my kidneys considering my uterus abnormality.
Renal aplasia associated with the unicornuate uterus or uterus didelphic is rare, but it has been reported previously. Also few abnormalities like single kidney common in bicarbonate uterus. So maybe that's why your doctor advised kidney scan. Please follow the orders of your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
