Brief Answer: Take measures IMMEDIATELY, as advised below Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for your query. It's unfortunate that an overdose of Medler has been taken. The symptoms- such as,anxiety, restlessness, tremor, insomnia, confusion, irritability, nausea, palpitations and dizziness- of overdose, might have already appeared by now. Since the duration of effect of Medler lasts for about 6 hours only, the symptoms would probably go away in another 4-5 hours. In the meanwhile, 50ml of antacid gel (such as, Digene gel) and 30ml of Liquid Paraffin may be taken immediately, so as to facilitate excretion of the drug out of the system. Further, burn two slices of bread till they are totally burnt and appear like coal. Crush them and swallow with water immediately. Further, in case of gross restlessness, a tablet of Valium 10mg; Tablet Atenolol 40mg in case of palpitations + rapid beating of the heart may be taken immediately and sleep it out. Send someone immediately to the chemist to buy the advised drugs. Take Digene gel and Liquid Paraffin immediately. Wait for the possible troublesome side effects to occur before you take other drugs, as advised above. It would however, be preferable that you consult your doctor at the earliest in case of intolerable symptoms/problems due to drug overdose. Hope I have addressed your concerns to your complete satisfaction and you find my response helpful and informative. I will be happy to answer further queries, if any. Take care, Col (Dr.) Rakesh Karanwal
