Diamox can cause side effects like headache, dizziness, diuresis etc.
Excess fluid is not advised because at that altitude urination is not much. So excess fluid will accumulate in the body and cause hyponatremia (low sodium).
So to prevent this, diamox, mild diuretic is advised two avoid fluid retention.
And please don't drink or smoke at that altitude .
