Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Did you notice blood oozing from the scratch site?
Was the dog vaccinated against rabies?
Did you complete basic cleaning under tap water and applied soap?
If there is no blood the risk of any infection is negligible. If there is blood then I suggest a tetanus vaccination first. An antibiotic course may be necessary only if the skin is inflammed and tender.
If the dog is vaccinated against rabies then you should not worry. If not vaccinated observe the dog behaviour closely. Any change you need a rabies immunoglobulin injection
If you did the basic under tap water cleaning then the risk of all infections is eliminated by 95%.
Hope this answers.
