What Stage Does T4aN2a Colon Cancer Fall Under?
Stage 3C. Survival 53%
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I am an oncologist of several years experience.
T4aN2a colon cancer falls in stage 3C and not 3B.
3B would include T4a with N1 or T2/3 with N2a. This is assuming that the patient has no distant metastases, i.e. M0. If it is M1 then it will become stage 4.
The 5 year overall survival rate for stage 3C colon cancer is 53%. This means that out of every 100 patients with stage 3C colon cancer, 53 will live till 5 years after diagnosis. This is with treatment. Of course, the ones surviving for 5 years may live much longer. Also, this is overall survival, i.e. they may have recurrence of their disease in this time, but they will not die of their disease.
Hope this answers your question. If you have anymore, I will be happy to answer them.
Take care.
