Question: My brother, 21 yrs, 120 kg and normally healthy had a fall from scooter on a speed breaker On 22/05/2014 and in addition to bruises here and there, had a deep abrasion On right knee cap. After MRI ON second day It was known that he has a torn ACL. Kindly advise what type of surgery (patellar tendon/single bundle or double bundle ACL reconstruction) would be advisable and who are the best arthroscopic surgeons in XXXXXXX NOR to do it?

Brief Answer:
MRI of the knee is important

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Not all torn ACL's are repaired. It depends on patients disability, the length of tear, pain and his future needs, are there other injuries in the knee joint?

So MRI will determine the percentage of tear. How painful is it? Is he able to walk certain distance and how long? What is his occupation?

Departments of Orthopedics in Apollo, XXXXXXX Fortis are good. You can visit them. They have best technology and doctors.

Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
