When Do Periods Begin After Discontinuing Invega Sustenna?
Observational study. Most women get period within 6-9 months.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Basically, it is an observational study on clinical trial database. It is seen that MOST women get their monthly period within 6 to 9 months after discontinuing Invega Sustenna.
It takes few months time to remove completely from the body due to prolonged half life (T1/2). It is also possible for someone, not getting period due to taking HIGH dose of injection previously and slow rate of elimination after withdrawing. Blood test can be done to check residual part if any.
Last thing, birth control pill is quite helpful to induce period. It should be taken for at least 2-3 cycles to get effective result in this case. Kindly, consult with your treating doctor regarding this.
Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Birth control pill is more effective. Do some blood tests.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up query.
I understand your situation. I suggest you to undergo blood test for Thyroid profile and Anti-mullerian hormone assay (for ovarian reserve). These are worthwhile tests.
Birth control pill is MORE effective in respect to progesterone pill to induce period. You should continue for 2-3 cycles with 7 days gap in between.
Don't be worried. You will definitely get your period within 2-3 months if above blood test reports are NORMAL.
Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion.
All the best and good luck.

Do those tests.
Detailed Answer:

Bromocriptine treatment is required in case of high prolactin level.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for query.
Yes, if your blood test reports are NORMAL and you continue birth control pill for next 2-3 cycles, I can assume that you will get period definitely.
If your blood prolactin level remains still high, proper treatment with BROMOCRIPTINE is required to suppress the same. It is MUST needed to resume your period. You can consult with doctor regarding this.
Hope, it helps for your information. Good luck.

I just returned from being in psychiatric hopsital for 1 week.. I got my period
while there for only 1-2 days. I was told by endochriongolist about this medicine
bromocriptine but at this point not sure if necessary. Since I did get some bleeding, and my prolactin levels decreased from 71 to 45 in about 6 days, I'm hoping prolactin will decrease even more by end of month so that I get another period next month. I was told to go off birth control by endocronolgist. But since I got period after stopping birth control unsure if this was because of birth control or if I got period on own...I gues I'll have to wait till next month to see if I get a period again with out taking any medicines. I pray that I do! I will update you as I told doctors in hospital if I get a normal period again next month(March) and hopefully my prolactin levels go back to normal(18) whereas they are 45 prolactin as of today Feb 6, 2015.
Wait for period in the next month without pill.
