Question: Taking diovan & co diovan for high blood pressure, past 5 yrs. now I'm taking celebrex for osteoathritis, 100 mg. 2 x a day. What is best time to take these tablets?
Brief Answer:
diovan and co diovan are not combined
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Co diovan is a combination of diovan and hydrochlorothiazide. Normally it is the use of co diovan and diovan is not recommended because it is over dosing on the same medication and could potentially cause an increase in side effects. Diovan belongs to the family of high blood pressure medications called ARBs.
Patients are switched from diovan to co diovan when the diovan on its own cannot control the blood pressure but the two are not used together. If one of these cannot control your blood pressure then another high blood pressure medication from a completely different family of medications is added, not from the same drug family like co diovan and diovan.
You may want to consider discussing this with your doctor.
In terms of the best time to take EITHER the diovan OR co diovan, the most important thing is to take them at approximately the same thing each day to make sure that you have 24 hour coverage.
The mornings are usually best.
In terms of the celebrex, there is no specific time this can be taken. It would be best to use it with meals though it usually does not irritate the stomach.
You may want to use it in the mornings so that you can move easier through the day.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Sorry, using Diovan one day and Co Diovan the next day, alternately, not together. I also take Betaloc 50mg each day together with above.
About hip osteoarthritis, taking Celebrex have helped me with managing the pain. Only hAve some itchiness at times. Can I still continue with it?
Brief Answer:
yes can continue if itching mild
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Sorry about the late reply.
Yes you can continue the medication despite the itchiness if it is only mild at the moment. If the itchy sensation worsens or you develop wheals on your skin then you may need to stop.
Please feel free to ask anything else
