Experiencing Hip Pain, Diagnosed With Osteoarthritis In Left Hip, Pain Prevents Movement. Cure?
I am 56 year old women & am experiencing hip pain that prevents movement. For example if I bend down my right hip locks & I cant get upright. Sometimes I have difficult raising my right leg with the knee bent while dressing. I have been diagnosed with early stages oestoarthritis in my left hip but thats not the area of the pain. Sometimes the pain is in the middle of the hip area and then moves around to the side.
As per you symptoms described it is most likely Osteoarthritis which can be confirmed through Imaging i.e X-rays, etc.
Treatment can involve:
1. Rest and joint care
2. Use of a cane to take weight off the affected hip
3. Losing excess weight
4.Exercise:Good and regular physical therapy is of great value in the treatment of early hip osteoarthritis. There are a variety of other treatments that can reduce pain. Microwaves, interference currents, and electrotherapy.
5.Medications, including acetaminophen (Paracetamol), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen .
5.Surgery if no relief.
I hope this will help
Best wishes
