White Globules In Stool After Fatty Meals, On The Surface, Dissipate On Touching. Causes And Treatment?

Question: white globules in stool after fatty meals that are on the surface of the stool and dissipade if touch
Hi and thanks for the query.
The description of the stool that you have given is classical of steatorrhoea or excess fat in the stool. This can occur because of either -
1) Fat mal-digestion - secondary to pancreatic insufficiency
2) Fat mal-absorption - Secondary to terminal ileal disease
3) Fat mal-digestion and mal-absorption secondary to bile acid deconjugation - due to excess acid or bacterial overgrowth.
Hence get yourself evaluated by your Gastroenterologist to differentiate among these causes.
