White Head Pimple Appeared On Upper Lip, No Pain. How To Treat This?

Question: My 7 year old daughter has a white head pimple on her upper lip - has been there for a week - no pain
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
White heads are not pimples. White heads are formed due to blockage of sweat and sebaceous glands by keratin. Keratin is the substance produced by skin cells.
When the blockade is by dirt, black heads are formed.
White and black heads are common on face because sweat and sebaceous glands are abundant on the face.
These heads can be easily removed by white/ black head remover.
Further development of these heads can be avoided by keeping the skin clean by regular cleansing.
If they develop even after taking care, you can always remove them with head remover.
I hope my answer is of help to you.
If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.

There is some redness around it - should I pop it-
Hello and welcome again,
Redness around the white head indicates infection.
Do not pop it. It can introduce more infection.
You can apply neosporin ointment (antibiotic ointment) and leave it as it is.
When the redness disappears, you can get it removed by a remover.
If you have more concerns, I will be glad to answer.
