Hello Ms. Addington,

I am sorry your son has been so sick. I would suggest he see an immunologist-infectious disease specialist. Preferably one at a university medical center if you have one nearby - either that or at a large multispecialty clinic.

Has he had any work up done for any of this?
An ENT doctor might help sort out if he is having chronic sinus infections causing fatigue and sore throat.

He should also have a complete blood count and thyroid studies.

But if these things have been looked into, then the immunology/infectious disease doctor may be able to look into this.

I hope this helps and that you are able to get answers soon. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

If you are willing, I would like to know how he is doing after he is evaluated. If this discussion is already closed, and if you subscribe to this site, you can post a new question with an update, with my name in the first line and it will get to me.

Best regards,

Your welcome.

Detailed Answer:
One other thought: while he is being evaluated by local doctors (if that needs to be done), you may want to go ahead and schedule the appt with the infectious disease/immunology specialist. I am saying this because, at least where I live, it can take months to get in to see one. You can always cancel the appointment later if your son doesn't need it.
