Hi XXXXXXX
i am Dr Mittal
There are several reasons why all stents are not put at the same time. some of the commonest causes are
1. development of some problem over a period of time needing a restenting
2. avoiding breakage of fat in the vessels that may reach and block some vessel elsewhere causing severe conditions like stroke
3. sometimes the lesion is at a bend. it may not be easy to negotiate the bend at the same sitting, thereby needing repeat procedure sometimes

How long after a stent placement should you be off work.
How much time is needed for rest after a stent is placed.
Brief Answer:
5-10 days
Detailed Answer:
hi there
the time post op depends on many factors
usually it is 5 to 10 days
the variation depends on factors like
ongoing blood pressure
ongoing heart rate
the medicines given during attack
the type of attack
the vessels involved in the attack
and other similar factors
usually they discharge in 5-10 days
and then keep calling you for cardiac rehabilitation
