I will try and answer each question of yours.
There are various causes for premature rupture of membranes including infection, inflammation etc.
1. How to increase my milk supply ?
Simple thing that increases milk production is your baby suckling at the breast. Do not worry about any thing else. Milk production is a natural thing and occurs when the hormones (prolactin and oxytocin) are released when baby sucks at the breast. Do not worry if the milk is sufficient or not. Do not worry as it hinders milk production. Take your baby on to your breast with love and affection. This is sufficient for milk production.
Did you see any mammal (breast feeding animals) failing to breast feed their baby? We as humans are failing because we have multiple thoughts and worries. Have a balanced diet with extra calories for breast feeding. No medication or placebo is required. Only determination to breast feeding is required to breast feed.
2. How long i mean till how many months should baby be given mothers milk?
Exclusively till 6 months. When i say exclusively I mean only breast feeding and nothing else. (nothing else should be given including water, gripe water, honey, etc.)
There after continue to breast feed till 2 years along with other feeds. (what ever your neighbors say please ignore)
Breast feeding is important for your baby's brain growth. It prevents against infections. It has the right things required for the baby at the right time.
3. What is the frequency to feed the baby. Is it every 2 hours I should give?
Please feed on demand (when ever baby cries). Do not go by the clock or fullness or emptiness of stomach etc.
4. In night within how much gap i should feed him?
Again feed by demand.
5. Can I massage him? If yes then how?
Yes you can massage him. Do a gentle massage that the baby enjoys. Talk to him when you massage him. You may use coconut oil for massage.
6. Which cream or lotion I can use on my Baby skin to make it smooth on a regular basis?
Simple coconut oil or olive oil. Use oil that is not perfumed.
7. He is passing motion every 3-4 days, is it ok or need to consult doctor?sometimes he is having constipation also, please advice
A exclusively breast fed baby can some times pass stools once in 3-4 days. Some times they pass 7 to 8 times a day. Both are normal if the baby is breast fed and active. (Giving more of fore milk will increase the frequency of stools.) If the problem persists basic investigations like thyroid profile are required if the baby has features of hypothyroidism on physical examination.
8. Should I clean his mouth every morning? If yes then how?
I personally feel just breast feed your baby. Your baby's mouth will smell so fine. Do not interfere with that.
9. Can I give him water to drink? If yes then how much?
No. I already answered this. Not even during hot summer. Your milk has enough water for the infant. Basic desire for breast feeding is thirst and if you give water you will kill thirst and there by poor feeding results. This can lead to malnutrition. Infections can occur leading to loose motions etc if you give water.
Finally I congratulate you for breast feeding your baby. I appreciate your concern for your baby.
Please continue to ask your questions. I will be more than happy to answer them.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
