Will A Holter Monitor Be Able To Handle Palpitations And Chest Pain
Depends on 24 hour ECG findings
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The best variant is when the patient has his typical complaints (e.g. chest pain, palpitation) while wearing holter monitor. In this case we see what's going on during complaints, and if there is nothing serious, we are on the safe side, or if we see some abnormality during the complaints, we can make diagnosis.
If the patient doesn't have complaints while wearing holter monitor, then we can't be a 100% sure, but we can draw some conclusions from the 24 hour registered ECG. If there are arrhythmias or some abnormalities, we can assume the cause of the complaints and main disease. And if there is no abnormality at all, then serious problems are less likely.
