Will Intake Of Apple Cider Vinegar Help Lower Cholesterol Levels?
Question: Hi there, I take 600mg in tablet form of apple cider vinegar a day for various health benefits for example it is helping to lower my cholesterol. I was just wondering though is apple cider vinegar good or bad for my kidneys?
Brief Answer:
Apple cider vinegar is very alkaline and good for the body.
Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to HCM,
Apple cider vinegar is very alkaline and good for the body.
But I would recommend it in natural form.
Taking anything in pure form as tablet and in excess can lead to increase in alkalinity and disturb acid base equilibrium of body.
Increase in alkalinity can lead to kidney damage as the normal pH of urine is acidic and that can get disturbed.
Secondly it is very high in potassium. If your potassium levels are high or you already have renal failure you should avoid it. Otherwise it is safe.
Just take a teaspoon or two of natural form in salad--best and healthiest way to have it.
