Question: Had an endoscopy and said didn't notice a hernia, but a few days later barium X-ray showed one, can an endoscopy miss it? I have symtoms of one?

Hello,

Yes, both investigations can sometimes miss the hernia, particular early small hernias. This generally happens if the herniated part is in normal position during investigation. If it's documented in one investigation, you should go by it.

Hope this answers your question.

Regards.
