10 Year Old With Nose Bleeds And Headaches. Diagnosed With Bilateral Uveitis And Pars Planitis. On Steroids. Could It Be Just Allergies?

My 10yo son has had headaches the past month along with about 8 episodes of nose bleeds. It is not dripping blood but takes about 5 or 6 swipes fo tissues to end it. He is also diagnosed with BIlateral Uveitis, PArs Planitis to be speciifc. He is under a doctors care and receives steroid treatments annually since age 4. Could this just be allegies, he does have a history of allegies with mild asthma

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

In allergies one can have nose bleeds but that only if the allergic rhinitis is very severe. In your son's case it is a very unlikely cause. As he is also complaining of headache has his blood pressure been recorded? Hypertension can explain both the headache and the nose bleed.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.
