10 Year Old With Pain In The Chest. Suffer From Acid Reflux. Severe Vomiting. Viral Infection?

My 10 year old woke up today eith pain between her breast bone and she does have reflux , after giving her zantac she became more ill and was vomiting throughtout the day. She finally stopped at about 1pm then was exstremely tired, she slept for a few hours and now at night has started with a fever and says her legs hurt. Is this normal for a virus?

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Your daughter looks like to have a Viral illness with gastritis.

Give Tylenol in prescribed dosage for fever evry 8 th hourly depending on the presence of fever.

For vomitings you can give an antiemetic like ondanstron in prescribed dosage.

Give sips of oral rehydration solutions like Pedialyte and coconut water to prevent dehydration.

Monitor her hydration.

Consult your Pediatrician for the examination of the child and for treatment.
