13 Weeks Pregnant And The Father Is Chinese And Advised Not To Drink Chilled Drinks. Suggest?

Hi.
I'm 13 weeks pregnant and the father of the baby is chinese so himself and all of his family have a cultural belief that drinking cold or chilled drinks is bad for the baby. I am western in background and have never heard anything like this before now. I find it hard to stomach warmed drinks especially with the nausea. Just wondering if you cos clear it up for me.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Our normal temperature is 37 degree ( body temperature) .If we drink or eat any thing , it enter into stomach ( 37 degree ) and then into duodenum and small intestine.
Once any thing in the stomach its temperature reach up to body temperature i.e. 37 degree .
After this all food stuff ( or drinks ) enter into blood through absorption and that temperature is also 37 degree ( body ) so no harm to baby at all.
There is no any scientific proof that prove that cold drinks harm fetus in uterus.
Hope I have answered your question.
Good luck for you and your forthcoming baby.
