16 Months Old Baby Has A Huge Bump On His Gum On Top Of His Teeth
Hi. My son is 16 months. Ive just noticed that he has a huge bump on his gum on top of his teeth. What is this? I am very concerned.

Hi..
the condition of your son most likely is an ERUPTION HEMATOMA. there is nothing to worry about, as this is absolutely harmless and is of a common occurence caused due to accumulation of fluids beneath gum tissue above crown of the erupting teeth.
this will rupture soon on eruption of associated tooth. still if it hurts the child, you can seek a dentist who will simply take a Xray and on confirmation of it, he will simply puncture the swelling/ bump and relieve the fluid accumulated

it may be a haematoma or it may be that the gums have swollen and a tooth might be in the process of erruption
whatever may be the case , get a checkup done by your nearby dentist
in the mean while what you can do is take some luke warm saline water in a glass, dip a cotton palate in it, squeeze the water and apply the cotton palate to the affected site for 4-6 times
repeat this after every 2-3 hours
that will relieve the situation considerably

Failing to provide treatment could lead to the spread of this infection which could lead to pain, swelling and a more serious infection.
