19 Year Old With Bloated Stomach And Belching Immediately After Drinking Fluids. Need Medical Attention?
Hi My name is David. I am 19. I would like to know weather my current condition needs special attention or should I just ignore it and see what happens after. I have been having problems with my digestion, every time I take in liquid food, say milk I feel it pouring straight into the intestines, this in the quickly preceded by bloated stomach and a series of belching, my entire belly then begins to rumble a lot. On the other hand nothing happens when I take in more solid foods such as grains. Is this normal?
Generally liquids quickly pass the stomach and you can feel it goes directly to the intestines. It can work that way. Its because there is not much to digest if it is about the liquids. Moreover, liquids can flow freely with the gravity. Belching and bloating after drinking can be caused by swallowing to much air. This is called an aerophagia. Can be caused by drinking carbonated drinks, drinking too fast, chewing gum, stress, anxiety.
As you do not have any other symptoms, I suggest you to try improve your diet first. Avoid carbonated drinks, try to drink slowly and to not swallow the air. If it wont help, you may visit gastroenterologist and consider gastroscopy.
Hope this will help. Regards.
