2 Month Old. Ultrasound Done On Liver For Jaundice. What Does The Report Indicate?
My 2 months old daughter has down an ultrasound on her liver for jaundice. The report is as follows:
Liver normal in size and echotexture. No focal lesions in the liver.
Gall bladder is contracted. No biliary tract dilatation.
Spleen and pancreas normal. No focal lesions noted, CBD, portal vein are in caliber.
Both kidneys are normal in size and echotexture. No rental calculi or hydronephrosis,
Right kidney: 4.9cm
Left kidney: 4.8cm
No free in the abdomen
Aorta, IVC, para aortic region - normal
Impression: No sonographic abnormality
Liver normal in size and echotexture. No focal lesions in the liver.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Report shows that condition of liver is fine.
There is no effect on liver due to jaundice.
Continue medicine for jaundice.
Nothing to worry about jaundice as at this age after birth, jaundice is common phenomenon.
Give glucose water and vitamin B.complex, vitamin C drops.
Ok and bye.

Jaundice is just a symptom but not a disease..jaundice means elevated bilirubin levels either because of infections or due to increased red cell breakdown..
In the query you didn't mention about your baby's bilirubin levels..
Consult pediatrician for further investigations like
1.Hemoglobin electrophoresis to rule out hemoglobinopathies
2.infections like hepatitis A,B,C
3.syndromes associated with bilirubin conjugation..
