2 Year Old, Had Xanax Pill Accidently, Made Him Vomit. What Should Be Done?
My 2 year old grandchiild accidentally got a hold of a friends Xanax that apparently had been dropped on the floor. After checking the bottle two were missing. I found a whole pill and one that was smooshy on the floor. I made him vomit immediately. Is there anything else I should do. Anything he shouldn't be given to eat or drink. This was about 20 min ago. He is talking and moving around.
2. it looks that your baby took this medication in mouth and than split . so very little amount entered in his body .
as per u child vomitted well . so need not to be worry . as he is active not in sedation no need to do much .
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
Relax. xanax is anxiolitic(alprazolam)
As you mentioned she vomited immediately and also they has taken very small amount there is nothing to worry.
Watch for any sedation.
Give him plenty of fluids.
Wishing your grandchild good health.
God bless..

General & Family Physician, Dr. Ramakant's Response
Hi,
The dose he has taken not been mentioned by you.If i presume it to be 0.5 mg then in one tablet it is not that much high to cause overdose symptoms.
Just have a close watch on his vital parameters and he will be allright after a few hrs as the drug is metabolised by the body.
