General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to severe acid reflex or any lump or mass in the food pipe. An upper GI endoscopy may be done for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
