2 Year Old Having Fever, Reddish Spots Near The Mouth, Swollen Gums And Bad Breath. What Could Be The Reason?
My 2 y.o. daughter has had a light fever (around 100) for a couple days, some red spots around her mouth and red swollen gums , and bad breath. The spots look like fever blisters. Mo other daughter had the same thing a couple years ago and the doctor called it something that sounded like trombolitis or strombolitis or something like that.
Dear elderhammons I am sorry to hear about your daughter. The condition which you
described seems stomatitis caused by herpes simplex virus. It is called fever blister as well.
Usually it settles down it self but some times it could be serious. In those cases they should
be treated with anti virus antibiotics. Make sure she does'nt handle those with hands as it
may infect fingers and eyes. put mittons in her hands. Give her planty to drink to maintain
hydration and paracetamol syrup for pain and discomfort. Kindest regards Dr.S.K.Mukherjee
