23 Weeks Pregnant, Dizziness, Nausea. Is Taking Iron Supplement Recommended To Reduce Dizziness?
I am 23 weeks pregnant and feel constant dizziness especially in the afternoon and after I eat something. I am also starting to feel nauseous today which I havent felt for my whole pregnancy. Could this be from my stomach getting bigger or something else such as low iron, low BP etc? Do you recommend that I commence on an iron supplement to see of this helps with dizziness etc?
Hi, Nausea in pregnancy is considered normal & is caused by slower movement or activity of bowel due to pregnancy hormones. You should check your blood pressure & haemoglobin levels as a lower level may produce dizziness. Iron tablet may help if you are anemic otherwise it has no direct effect on dizziness. You should report this issue to your treating Gynecologist to find out a specific cause. Hope this clears your query. Take care
