3 Year Old Having Cough, Runny Nose, Fever, Leg Pain. Taking Calpol, Neurofen. What Further Treatment Can Be Done?
My daughter is 3 and has has a tickerly cough for a few days but has no turned very chesty. She has also got runny nose, high temperature and complains of aching legs.
I have been alternating between calpol and neurofen for children plus a little bit of tixilicks when her cough gets bad.
Please can you advise if there is anything else I should be doing.
Your daughter has cough, runny nose, fever and leg pain. These symptoms are suggestive of viral infection. The medicines you are giving her- paracetamol (calpol), neurofen (ibuprofen) and tixylix are fine. Besides these you can try steam inhalation, this will help in her cough.
But if she develops fast breathing or her symptoms persist beyond 7 days please get her evaluated by a pediatrician.
