Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Gas and colic is common around this age group.

Colic is usually seen below the age of 6 months.

Neopeptine drops can be given for gas problem.

The dose is twice daily and it can be given for prolonged period such as 5 days to 1 week if the gas problem is excessive.

As the age grows, this problem will settle down and the child will be comfortable.

Feed him in comfortable position and burp the child after each feeding.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Dear Saumya,

Gassiness or colic has nothing to do with acidity. Neopeptine can be used as often as desired, even up to 4-5 times if it helps as it has no side-effects. You might want to avoid cauliflower, cabbage, onions, pulses and legumes, and also garlic, as all these foods promote gassiness in the mother and baby if you are breastfeeding her.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Please burp your baby properly to prevent him from swallowing gas after every feed. Burping is more important than your diet to prevent colic.

Please put him on the shoulder after every feed and burp him for atleast 10 to 15 minutes.

Colic problem improves with time.

Those drops may not be of any use. Congratulations for exclusive breast feeding your baby. Please continue the same till 6 months. There after continue to breast feed till 2 years.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum .
Whatever lactating mother eats or drinks it will secretes in milk and child will get it .
In my opinion infant need not neopeptine drops.
Avoidance for you ,
fried food,
spiced ,
fatty food ,
excessive protein diet ,
At this stage you should use light diet , easily digest food.
Good luck.
