6 Month Baby, Suffering From Fever, Premature. Taking Medication. Suggestions?

Hello doc
My son is 6months and 28 days old.he was born premature and was hospitalized for 2months after birth.on 5 may he caught fever and I asked the local doc and started with crocin drops tds.but thedrops are not at all helpful in bringing his fever down.he also prescribed augmentin drops 3ml BD.I started augmenting yesterday only.but till now his fever is still there.pls suggest me what to do.I m in great trouble , doc.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

I think your baby should be further investigated for the cause of fever.
A through examination may give some clues to the cause of fever.
Further investigations including cbc, CRP, blood for culture, may be required.

In the treatment of baby with fever (less than 1 year old) oral antibiotics may not be sufficient. (without arriving at a proper diagnosis)
Continue to ask further queries.
