Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Give probiotic and zinc supplementation after consulting your Pediatrician.
Stool to be given for routine examination and for the culture to look for any bacterial infection as this will require antibiotic.
If there is no features of bacterial infection, antibiotic is not required.
Maintain hydration by giving sips of oral rehydration solution like Pedialyte.
Consult your Pediatrician for the assessment any treatment.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
Monitor for signs of dehydration. They include 1. Decreased skin turgor 2. Increasing thirst. 3. Sunken eyes. 4. Irritability. 5. Drowsiness. 6. Decreasing passage of urine. Oral rehydration solution or any other solution containing salt and sugar should be given. Probiotics and Zinc prescribed by your doctor will be useful.
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care. Dr Y V Siva Sankara Murty M.D.(Pediatrics) Associate Professor of Pediatrics
The above mentioned symptoms are due the erruption of teeth in your child. During this period child has a tendency to put each and every thing in thier mouth so the chances of infection increases. A very good oral and physical health of the child should be maintained during this period. For loose motions oral rehydration syrups should be given. I would suggest you to take your child to a Child Specalist and get the checkup done.
